Reviews
Very nice atmosphere. Good variety. However i wasn’t a fan of anything we ordered. I came in due to the posts we saw on their IG about table made guacamole, and a few other items but unfortunately everything i saw online was not being offered when we visited. Presentation of food and drinks was good. I loved the mango drink i had very delicious. However all the food was lacking flavor and the consistency of the rice was horrible way too mushy.
My Dad and I came here for an early dinner a little while ago and we love the food their.
First things first yes their piña colada is served in a pineapple and it's absolutely great, it's a bit pricey but not too bad.
Now let's get to the good stuff I ordered tacos which they give choices of the meats for three tacos. I chose the al pastor, carnitas and the carne asada.
Their al pastor was pork marinated with pineapple and the flavors worked so well together with the savory taste of the pork also the sweet and tangy taste of the pineapple, together the flavors was absolutely delicious.
The carne asada had a simple comforting taste to it, it was well seasoned and savory with a slight char to the taste which made flavors pop and the carnitas were tender and flavorful which made the taste of the meat melt through out my taste buds.
My dad had the ground beef quesadillas which after trying a bite of it with the guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream it just exploded with flavor and personally I'm not a fan of guacamole but I love their guacamole. My dad also really enjoyed the dish he said it was flavorful and delicious.
I personally love the food here as well as the atmosphere, the service was good and we will most definitely be coming back when we can.
Their birria consume is no longer good. We live in Mechanicsburg and used to drive to Harrisburg often to eat here. Last time I went I ordered the birria tacos as I have always done, the consume to dip the tacos tasted like oil and very watered down. I went again yesterday and same thing, this is frustrating because they used to have a great one. Also, there was a puddle of oil on my plate with the tacos, which made them soggy. Another thing is that you used to be able to buy 1 pupusa as a side and now they make you buy a minimum of 3. We don’t have any plans to be going back and making a 50 min round trip. I do have to say their horchata is the best we’ve tasted in the area and their tamarind juice. Very disappointing about the food though, because they used to be amazing.
Brought my mom here for dinner. Staff was exceptionally friendly, professional, and efficient. Seated immediately and server had a bowl of warm nachos and salsa on the table less than 30 seconds later. Food was great, atmosphere got a little lively when the music came on. But it was not so loud that you couldn't hold a conversation. Very satisfied overall. Pricing is quite reasonable.
Our first time there. I had a Strawberry Margarita frozen and the Taco Platter with Al Pastor tacos. My husband had an original Margarita on the rocks along with 3 tacos ( 2 ground beef and 1 chorizo). The waitress was friendly and approachable for all the right reasons. She was helpful. All the food was great and the desserts were great too. I had a HUGE piece of Tres Leche cake, and husband had the best Flan!!!!
First time experience at El Rancho was 5 stars. The restaurant was very clean and well maintained. All the employees were so friendly & attentive. Our server Marcy made several recommendations & did a awesome job. The Chorizo burger was amazing . Thanks
The only complaint I have was the type of music they had. The food was good but the salsa was bland. It tasted more like tomato sauce with herbs instead of salsa. The chimichanga was good with its cheese sauce. Its pico de gallo with avocado tadted fresh.
My shrimp tacos on doubled corn tortillas were fabulous. Burrito Birria was big hit with my daughter. My husband's burrito was delicious, too. Brightly colored Mexican furniture and decor were great addition to atmosphere. Portions were generous. Gluten-free available.
